CBSE results have always been a major cause of news and concern in our country, especially since the pandemic hit and the exams have been in a state of flux. Whether or not to count the exam and its results at all was a major discussion until last year. In fact, premier institutes like IIT even declared that the board exam results would not be taken into account for a student looking to enter the prestigious campus for engineering higher education. Yet, is this the answer?

CBSE Results: The Story So Far

In a recent turn of events, the CBSE board seems to be aiming at releasing the results for its students, by the end of July. With over 33 Lakh students waiting in line to know their results and what the direction of higher education would be for them, it would be fitting to say that this is a time of high stress and tension for many students and their families alike. Yet, in our country it has been seen that we are ill equipped to address and manage the stress that comes with such events. The state of counselling and the flexibility of “what if” is in a flux and a poor state.

CBSE Results: Dealing with the Stress

There are a number of ways in which one can deal with and manage the stress of this result season. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  1. Expectations: Manage the expectations of your family and yourself by knowing what you want. Instead of focussing on people, focus on what you want to achieve.
  2. Know Your Goals: This is one of the major things that you need to know in order to distract from the pressure of expectations. If you know yourself and what your goals are, then you will be able to work on the goals rather than the expectations of those around you.
  3. Flexibility: Have the flexibility to bring in a plan B in case things do not work out exactly as you may have planned. This is also a major life to have for the future since life actually begins outside school!
