In the wake of the Corona Virus Outbreak in the nation and around the world, several Board examinations have been suspended and will be rescheduled for later. COVID 19 has impacted examinations and delayed the results of 2020. Examination results are now awaited with bated breath even as some of the exams are yet to conducted for students who are hanging in balance with a sense of utter uncertainty. The Central Board of Secondary Education ( CBSE), the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ICSE), and ISC or state boards, as well as the national school of open schooling (NIOS ) have postponed their examinations midway. Examinations for various state-level board exams, recruitment exams, university- level examination and entrance exams have been postponed all across the country.
The JEE Main and NEET examinations, the two most prestigious science background examinations for both medical and non-medical students has been postponed to the 24th of July amidst the coronavirus outbreak. Many economists demand cancellation of this all India examination.
The AAIMS entrance exams are postponed all over India on account of the lockdown. Various other examinations like the Engineering Agriculture and Medicine Common entrance test( EAMCET) as well as various other professional courses are postponed. Yet, there is no word yet on when the examination results can be expected even after the exams are conducted.
Entrance examinations could invite corona virus carriers that could in turn infect a a large section of the population since India has the largest population of young people and most of them are busy graduation from one phase of education to the other, and mostly they are all looking to take exams and looking forward to examination results as well. Mostly all entrance examinations for under graduation programs are postponed. Exams to be held for Bachelors of business administration, bachelors in mass communication, B.com. and others are all suspended due this situation of a severe pandemic. Entrance examination for postgraduate programs are also withheld at the moment. The MH SET entrance tests are also postponed yet again by Savitribai Phule Pune University. The exams earlier going to be held in March were now postponed to July 28th.
Examination Results awaited:
For students who are affiliated with international boards (IB) wanting to get into Delhi university, admissions will be a tedious process for them. Universities have mentioned that they might not wait for results, the seats might not be available by the results are issued. This would also mean a delay in the examination results.
While we are on the subject of examination results, we should know that the results of X and XII boards are awaited for both CBSE as well as SSC Boards. All India institute of medical sciences will conduct their leftover delayed examination by the immediate 11th June since the Delhi government refused to postpone the PG entrance test. All post-graduation entrance exams are to be delayed and held in strict obedience of the COVID 19 guidelines. Proper measures will be taken keeping in mind the social distancing norms and criteria as well as sanitization measures. To minimize movement in this strategic period of lockdown, examination centers have been increased from 60 to 157 with at least one centre in each state.
All sorts of undergrad and post-grad examination were postponed due to the sudden pandemic that hit the country. Many universities and institutions could not carry forward with their exams because the cases never calmed down in the past 3 months – in fact, they have been at their peak. Institutions were compelled to suspend their respective examinations. Examination results like CLAT, LLB, BBA and others, are all postponed with the view of reducing the effect of the virus. Examination centers could be the main hotspot of breeding corona virus cases. These examinations will surely be held once the pandemic is over and the hazard from the virus lessens considerably!
