To develop future clinical leaders and improve patient care, the measures to be implemented include developing and offering leadership education and development opportunities to healthcare workers
The American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the NATHEALTH-Healthcare Federation of India signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Monday to create a future-ready healthcare environment, promote healthcare capacity building, and increase access and quality of treatment. Under the terms of the agreement, both organisations will work together to strengthen healthcare systems by establishing and offering leadership education and development opportunities for healthcare professionals who want to become clinical leaders and improve patient care. Through in-person meetings, the collaboration will provide educational possibilities.
A long-standing structural concern for India has been the doctor-to-patient ratio and a shortage of competent healthcare personnel. While the pandemic has emphasised the need for increased infrastructure in terms of beds and ICUs, the development of a statewide medical educational programme for medical professionals and healthcare workers is critical. The goal of this strategic partnership is to create a knowledge-sharing platform that will allow various stakeholders to find solutions to barriers to quality healthcare, as well as ways to improve patient outcomes and advance to executive positions in healthcare settings and national medical societies.
“We are excited to work with ACHE on such an important aspect of healthcare education. For the medical community, the second wave of Covid-19 has been eye-opening. As we prepare for a probable third wave of the pandemic and its subtle change to an endemic, a lot of attention is being paid to bolstering our systems to deal with the rise in cases, both Covid and non-Covid,” said Dr. Harsh Mahajan, president of NATHEALTH, in a statement.
“The difficulties we face today, such as a scarcity of beds and oxygen, as well as a lack of access to important medicines, can be addressed with the required initiatives at the federal and state levels, but in these trying circumstances, skills and talent are needed more than ever. Taking steps to address the situation will substantially assist providers in providing better treatment. This strategic relationship between NATHEALTH and ACHE improves patient care through a one-of-a-kind and much-needed clinical collaboration. He went on to say, “We look forward to providing a platform for this.”
“On behalf of ACHE, we are thrilled to partner with NATHALTH on leadership development and education,” Deborah Bowen, FACHE and CAE, remarked. This year’s theme is the importance of global collaboration and knowledge sharing. Pandemic Virus “We’ve demonstrated how excellent leadership can have a huge influence on patients. We’ve collaborated with NATHEALTH on educational and leadership development. We’re excited to share best practises for delivering interactive programmes with medical leaders, as well as the patients and communities they serve.
