India Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay is ranked 177th best overall in the 18th edition of the “world’s most-consulted international universities rankings,” making it India’s highest ranked institution for the fourth year in a row. Meanwhile, IIT Delhi, India’s second best institute, has increased in the worldwide rankings from 193rd last year to 185th this year.

Meanwhile, IIT Delhi, India’s second best institute, has increased in the worldwide rankings from 193rd last year to 185th this year. Pokhriyal tweeted, “Today, I’m incredibly delighted to convey that India is taking a quantum leap in the areas of education and research and is emerging as a VISHVAGURU.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said, is a “Guru” (teacher) who “constantly thinks about the welfare of our students, professors, and all other stakeholders affiliated with the Indian education sector.” “Initiatives like NEP 2020 (National Education Policy) and IOE (Institute of Education) are critical in determining the global rankings of our universities and institutes. This can be shown by looking at the QS and Times Group university rankings,” the training minister noted. He also commended the individual training institutes on their outstanding performance. Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed the three institutions as well.
According to a research issued by The Economist Intelligence Unit, India has improved five places in the Worldwide Educating for the Future Index (WEFFI) 2019. The index assesses countries based on their ability to provide skill-based education to pupils. The paper looks at the education system from the standpoint of skill-based education in areas including critical thinking, problem-solving, leadership, cooperation, creativity, and entrepreneurship, as well as digital and technical skills.
“Among the world’s top economies, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Russia all dropped behind in the index, while China, India, and Indonesia advanced,” according to the research. In 2019, India received a score of 56.3 in the policy environment, down from 61.5 in 2018. India’s scores in the teaching environment and the socio-economic environment grew dramatically from 32.2 and 33.3 in 2018 to 52.2 and 50.1 in 2019.
“In the policy context, India has made notable achievements, with a new national education policy launched in early 2019 that expressly includes future-oriented abilities such as critical thinking, communication, and entrepreneurship,” the research stated. “India should be a favoured higher education destination. As a result, Ind-SAT will be held in Asian and African countries as part of its “Study in India” programme.
