Teachers will be employed, with better remuneration, as a result of online education and e-learning methods, and their reputation will be enhanced among various stakeholders in education
It is clear that the Indian economy has been showing signs of recovery in recent quarters. Plans for the unique recovery of different industries have also been laid out. In the year 2020, the education sector, in particular, experienced two significant disturbances. A National Curriculum Framework for Teacher Education, NCFTE 2021, will be drafted based on the guidelines of NEP 2020 on teacher education and preparation to direct all teacher education, pre-service and in-service, of teachers employed in academic, vocational, and special education streams.
To be hired in a private or public school, a teacher must pass the TET, give a demonstration lesson, pass the interview, and be fluent in the local language (s). Teacher Eligibility Tests (TETs) will also be expanded to include teachers through all new phases of school education (Foundational, Preparatory, Middle, and Secondary), according to the NEP 2020. TET and NTA test scores in the corresponding subjects will be taken into account when hiring subject teachers. Clear, succinct instruction is required in an online learning environment. Educators who are used to teaching in a face-to-face classroom can need to improve their written communication skills. Graphics, photographs, and digital audio files are all important tools for communicating with students. Texting, email, and voice-messaging are also used more often in conversations with students and parents.
Online teachers often use a webcam setup instead of meeting in person for parent-teacher conferences and student tutoring events. Online instructors must be able to reliably assess student results. Educators will “take charge” of the class by controlling entry, reviewing discussion posts, and marking assignments. In a digital education climate, new methods for recognising learning disabilities and other factors that affect academic performance are needed.
The Covid-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc on the educational sector both domestically and globally, with many claiming that the shift to ed-tech has created numerous opportunities and levelled the playing field for schools that were previously separated by geography, technical access, academic and faculty quality, and other factors. However, digitization is an ongoing journey that has arrived at an incredibly unparalleled moment, and a significant amount of energy and time has been invested, and continues to be invested, to achieve optimal solutions.
Apart from acclimating students to the latest learning approach, considerable effort is being put into teacher preparation and the exploration of new and efficient online evaluation methods in both private and public school infrastructures. Technology has aided the Gen Z and millennial generations. Traditional school teachers, on the other hand, are not in the same boat. Offline education, backed by strong offline infrastructure, is the strength of the majority of India’s teacher population. As a result, instruction in the use of online tools and methodologies is critical. Understanding the fundamentals of an ed-tech interface, as well as its importance, strength, and benefits to the larger e-education ecosystem, is critical. Teachers with a broad understanding of technology are better equipped to use it wisely and build an efficient online teaching environment.
